SHIFT Founder and Director Kelsey Ang
Kelsey Ang is a captivating artist and creator whose career spans the globe. She began training in Hong Kong and the Philippines before moving to Los Angeles where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double degree in dance and marketing from Loyola Marymount University. She has had the pleasure of performing Bill T. Jones, Sidra Bell, and BODYTRAFFIC repertoire and worked with LA’s top choreographers including Jay Carlon, Dance Magazine’s “Top 25 to Watch of 2020”, and Toogie Barcelo, one of Billboards top 12 most iconic choreographer’s list. On screen, she is in a music video for Lee Grove Music (Kristen Gutoskie) and a commercial for Blenders Eyewear.
Recently, Kelsey co-choreographed, performed and creative directed a short dance film “Common Grounds”; and began co-choreographing a piece on Invertigo Dance Theatre’s Dancing Through Parkinson’s program for Nigel Lythgoe and Debbie Allen’s Los Angeles International Dance Festival.
Kelsey is passionate about sharing movement through teaching. She is the Founder and Director of a leading Asia dance program, SHIFT Dance. She has taught at dance programs in Singapore, LA and Hong Kong to people of all ages from kids 5-15 to adults ages 35-90 as a Teaching Artist for Invertigo Dance Theatre’s Dancing Through Parkinson’s program.Learn More
